Big
Red Dune
24°57'22.94"N
55°43'0.87"E
This is a nice place
for practicing 4x4 driving. It's a wide desert that
starts by a big red sandy dune on the way to Hatta.
If interested,
you may hire some buggies from a shop across the
road.
From DWTC to Big
Red Dune, it's about 58.5 Km.
At this area,
the car will be relax if the tires pressure is 18
PSI. You may still keep it on higher pressure (ie.
23) depending on the way you drive, but the car will
put more effort to move.
Hint:
It's advisable to check with the manufacturer
for the least acceptable pressure you can put in
your car's tires. You also need to
know that a tire rubber may go out of the wheel if
it is on low pressure and the car is driven
horizontally on a slope.
Hint:
If you neither have a GPS nor you can print these
maps, keep following the signs to Hatta while
checking the odometer (58.5 Km) until you find
buggies shop on the right and a Big Red Dune on the
left.
For technical
limitation, an interactive map which opens by Google
Earth couldn't be uploaded to the site. If you're
planning a trip, please send
us a message and we'll send you the file.
